Nattaya Thammasak
Chonburi · Opening the Umbrella
I had no idea where to start with money. The first session felt like someone finally explaining things in a language I understood. The pace was really right for me — I didn't feel rushed or embarrassed to ask questions.

Prasong Wattanakorn
Pattaya · A Wider Shelter
I already knew the basics but wanted more structure. The six-week format was ideal — enough time to really sit with each topic. The worksheets helped me apply things to my actual situation rather than generic examples.

Somchai Ruangrat
Bang Lamung · Full Canopy
The full programme was the most useful ten weeks I've spent in years. I finally feel like I understand my pension options and what questions to ask a financial adviser. The planning folder is something I still refer to regularly.

Kanya Phomchai
Chonburi · Opening the Umbrella
I appreciated how honest they were about what the course could and couldn't do. They were clear that it was education, not advice, and helped me understand when I'd need to speak to a professional. That honesty meant a lot.

Wiroj Suthirat
Pattaya · A Wider Shelter
The group size made a real difference. There were eight of us, and by the third week I felt comfortable talking about my actual finances rather than hypothetical ones. The recorded sessions were a good bonus too — I rewatched two of them.

Malee Lertporn
Bang Lamung · Full Canopy
I joined a little nervous — I thought I'd be behind everyone else. Within the first two sessions it was clear that everyone was there to learn together, not compete. The team created a really calm, supportive atmosphere throughout.

"I didn't know how to read my own bank statement"
The Situation
A retired teacher from Chonburi in her early fifties felt anxious about managing money after her husband passed. She had savings but no framework for thinking about them and was worried about making mistakes.
What Changed
Through Opening the Umbrella, she built a simple monthly overview of her income and outgoings for the first time. The printed guide became something she returned to each week as a reference point.
After the Programme
She described feeling "less frightened" about money decisions. She went on to join A Wider Shelter the following cohort and is now working with a licensed adviser her daughter helped her find.

"I knew I should be saving more, but didn't know where to put it"
The Situation
A small business owner in his late forties was putting money aside each month but keeping it all in a standard current account. He had heard about fixed deposits and funds but found the terminology confusing.
What Changed
The six-week format gave him time to compare options in a structured way. The worksheets helped him map his situation clearly and identify where he was leaving interest on the table.
After the Programme
He moved a portion of savings into a fixed deposit product and described the decision as feeling "much calmer" than it would have done before the course. He plans to join the Full Canopy programme next year.

"I wanted to understand what retirement would actually look like"
The Situation
A woman in her mid-fifties working in healthcare had been contributing to a pension scheme for years but had never looked carefully at what it would provide. She also had ageing parents whose care costs she was beginning to think about.
What Changed
The Full Canopy sessions gave her a framework to think through both her own retirement and her family's care needs side by side. The closing reflection helped her identify the three questions she most needed to ask a licensed adviser.
After the Programme
She met with a licensed financial planner using the preparation materials from the programme. She described the meeting as "the most productive financial conversation I've ever had" — largely because she knew what to ask.
